Is Chip Repair Important?

CAN I JUST IGNORE A CHIP OR CRACK?

Windshield damage usually consists of a small chip or crack in the first layer of glass. Fixing the damage is inexpensive so there’s no reason to ignore it! When this damage occurs, it creates an opening for water or dirt to enter. This can cause your windshield to crack. Unless repaired, the crack will often spread as temperatures affect the glass. Eventually, the windshield must be replaced, which can be costly.

Chip or crack damage on your windshield is usually an easy repair. The repair involves a technique using UV sensitive resin and suction to the damaged area of your windshield. The repair usually doesn’t take any longer than 10-15 minutes. The amount of damage depends on how invisible the repair is – most repairs only show a spec where the chip has been filled.
